New Delhi, January 13
India today summoned the Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh Nurul Islam. The Bangladeshi ambassador has been invited on such occasions when the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh summoned the High Commissioner of India in Dhaka, Pranay Verma, a day ago. Bangladesh had expressed ‘concern’ to Verma about the border wall being built by India at some locations along the Indo-Bangladesh border. Bangladesh Foreign Secretary Mohammad Jashim Uddin had asserted that such BSF activities, especially the “unauthorized attempts” to erect barbed wire fences, were creating a tense atmosphere along the border. – ANI
