CBSE has advised students to stay in touch with their schools and rely only on official announcements. It is very important to avoid rumors or unconfirmed news, as such information can create unnecessary stress. Parents should also maintain the morale of the children and encourage them to continue studying regularly so that they are ready when new dates are announced. This decision shows that education is not limited to exams; Equally important is the safety and mental health of students. The board has also informed various Indian embassies and concerned authorities to maintain coordination and ensure that students do not face any hardship.
Earlier, a notification went viral stating that some 10th and 12th board exams have been completely canceled in the Middle East region. Students will be awarded marks on the basis of internal assessment without examinations. CBSE termed this information as misleading and false.
Important Alert!!
This is a fake circular. An official update will follow. pic.twitter.com/ofhLK5doUy— CBSE HQ (@cbseindia29) March 1, 2026
The viral information said that the rest of the language papers have been canceled and the social science exam will not be held. It also said that students’ marks will be determined on the basis of periodical examinations, pre-board examinations and internal assessments, and no student will fail. The board clarified that no such official decision has been issued and the document is only designed to create confusion.
CBSE has urged all schools, students and parents to rely only on official websites and information from authentic sources. Sharing any WhatsApp message, social media post, or unverified circular encourages the spread of misinformation and creates unnecessary tension among students. Schools have also been directed to provide accurate information to students immediately.
