In Punjab, this process is made simple through Sewa Kendras, where you can register your marriage under either the Punjab Compulsory Marriage Act, 2012, or the Anand Marriage Act.

Marriage certificate Punjab documents required
A file is prepared for the marriage certificate which contains the application form, self-declaration, affidavit, and other documents. |
Proof of current residence address which should be in the name of the bride or groom (proof of address – Voter ID / Passport, Driving License) |
Proof of date of birth of both husband and wife (documents which serve as proof of age, preferably 10th class mark sheet with date of birth). |

Marriage Certificate Registration Process in Punjab:
- The spouse should apply for marriage registration with the registrar in whose jurisdiction they live. Such as the tehsil in which the spouse lives. The marriage will be registered in the same tehsil.
- Submit the Marriage Certificate Registration File to the Sewa Kendra. All witnesses must be present with the original documents at the time of submission.
- After this, the receipt of the application will be given to the applicant. This certificate is ready by the last date given on the receipt.
- If the certificate is not ready by the given date or there is any objection to it, then the Sewa Kendra or tehsil office should be contacted.
