This parking fee is being charged at Chandigarh Railway Station. This new decision of the Ambala Railway Division of the Northern Railway is bound to affect the passengers. Passengers coming to the railway station by cab and private vehicle will have to pay a fee in the name of pick and drop. If a passenger takes more than half an hour while drop off or picking up a passenger from the station, the driver will have to pay a fee of Rs. Passengers coming to the railway station in a private vehicle will be free for six minutes under the pick and drop facility. After this, passengers coming in a private vehicle will have to pay 30 for 15 minutes and 200 for 30 minutes.

Ambala Railway Board has given the contract of pick and drop started at Chandigarh railway station to a person named Vinay Mohinder for Rs 11.15 crore. It is known that 10 to 15 thousand passengers travel daily from Chandigarh railway station.

1000 being charged as fine

A pick-and-drop facility has been started at the railway station. Ambala Railway Division has planned to earn big from passengers and drivers. Passengers arriving by vehicle will not be allowed more than 30 minutes for pick and drop. If it takes more than 30 minutes then one thousand rupees will be charged as a penalty.
