The Prime Minister spoke to the leaders of 8 countries
Amid rising tensions in the Middle East, a large number of Indians are stranded in the Gulf countries. Special efforts are being made to ensure their safe and speedy return to India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself has spoken to the leaders of 8 Gulf and West Asian countries over the phone in the last 48 hours. He condemned the recent violence, stressed the need for peace and stability in the region, and thanked the US for ensuring the safety of Indian citizens.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Indian Mission are continuously in touch with the airlines and foreign aviation authorities to facilitate the return of the stranded citizens. It is worth noting that, apart from war-torn Iran, millions of Indian citizens live in the Gulf countries. Dubai and Abu Dhabi, in particular, are home to a large number of Indian tourists. This sudden action by Israel and the US has created a commotion in the entire Gulf.
