Nitesh Tiwari is going to be seen in the role of Lord Rama in the epic of Nitesh Tiwari and Namit Malhotra’s epic Ramayanam. Bollywood superstar Salman Khan was also once selected for this divine role. The first installment of Tiwari’s two-part film is going to be released on Diwali 2026. Meanwhile, an interesting story of the 90s has come out, in which Salman was going to be seen in a separate Ramayana project. The film was to be directed by his brother Sohail Khan.

According to reports by Mid-Day and India.com, Sohail had announced a film based on the Ramayana in the early 1990s, when he made his direction debut. In the film, Salman Khan was selected for the role of Lord Ram and Sonali Bendre was cast as Sita. Discussion about this project increased when actor-director Pooja Bhatt also joined it.
Let me tell you that about 40 percent of the film had been shot, and Salman also started promoting the film in Ram avatar with his traditional costume, bow and arrow. But the film could never be released. The reason for the cancellation of the project was not a mutual dispute and budget lack of budget, but an off-screen relationship. According to the sources, the romance between Sohail Khan and Pooja Bhatt started to flourish during the shooting of the film. Pooja also talked about marriage in a 1995 interview, which made this relationship deeper. However, when his father, script writer Salim Khan came to know, he refused to adopt this relationship.
