In the wake of the attacks on police stations, there has been a blast in the Islamabad police station here today. Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar and other police officials who reached the spot said that there was a loud explosion, but there was no damage.
A loud explosion was heard at around 3 am, after which people became fearful. Germany-based gangster Jeevan Fauji has claimed responsibility for the blast on social media. On the other hand, the police officials said that the matter is being investigated. Forensic teams have been called and only after the investigation can anything be said properly about the explosion.
It is to be noted that six such incidents have taken place so far. A few days ago, on December 4, a similar explosion took place inside the Majitha police station, which was described by the police as an explosion caused by a burst tire of a vehicle. Earlier, there was an explosion inside Gurbakhsh Nagar police station in Amritsar. This police post building was closed for some time. Similarly, explosive materials were also found outside Ajnala police station.
Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that the police have already arrested some persons who were working for gangsters living abroad. Two of these persons have also been arrested in the case of keeping explosive materials outside the police station. The police is investigating further in the matter and more arrests are likely soon. Regarding today’s explosion, he said that the sound of explosion was definitely heard but there was no damage inside the police station. The sentry on night duty heard the sound. He said that investigation is being done by forensic teams.
