Gianesh Kumar took charge as the Chief Election Commissioner

Gianesh Kumar today as the 26th Chief Election Commissioner of the country, as the VEC Joshi has taken charge of the post as Election Commissioner (EC). Kumar was March 2024 to Election Commissioner and has been promoted on Monday to the Chief Election Commissioner. Gianesh Kumar has replaced Rajiv Kumar, who retired on Tuesday. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu is the second elections. Joshi, former Haryana Cadre IAS officer, was appointed Election Commissioner on Monday.

Kumar said in the message after handling the office, ‘The first step for the country is voting. Therefore, every Indian citizen of India, for 18 years, must vote. ‘ Kumar emphasized, ‘Election Commission would always stand with voters.’ Kumar’s tenure will be up to 26 January 2029. -Ptyti
