Police constable Yuvraj Singh, named as an accused in the murder case of Nisha Soni, a resident of Joginder Nagar in Himachal Pradesh and studying in Chandigarh, has surrendered before the police today. DSP Rajpal Singh Gill and SHO Sunil Kumar said that Nisha Soni was studying air hostess at Frankfin Institute in Chandigarh. He said that Ritu Soni, the sister of the deceased, had complained to the police that Yuvraj Singh (33), a resident of village Manpure in Fatehgarh Sahib district and a police constable posted in Mohali’s special cell, put her in his car on January 20. took away Later, he pushed Nisha into the canal near Pathredi Jat village and she died. Nisha’s dead body was found in Bhakra Canal near Patiala. According to the complainant, the accused had threatened to make the video viral and kill her if she did not meet her sister over the phone. Ritu Soni said that her sister was staying with her in Sunny Enclave Sector 123 near Kharar.

Police officials said that the accused was produced in the court of Judge Seema Agnihotri. After receiving a five-day police remand from the court, interrogation has been started from the accused. He said that the police will investigate the CCTV footage and the allegations of blackmailing. According to the information, the accused Yuvraj Singh had befriended the complainant’s sister five or six months ago by claiming to be single, who was later found to be married and his wife has gone to Australia at present.
