Sarabjit Singh Bhangu
Patiala, January 4
Farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who has been on a death fast at the Dhaka Gujran border for the last 40 days, has appealed to the people of the country to be a part of this fight while addressing the Mahapanchayat here today. Dallewal said that even though they are advancing this war by fasting to death, it is now the task of the people to win it. Dallewal thanked the devotees who came in large numbers.
Dallewal said that the Morcha will register a definite victory. He said, “The police made several attempts to catch me, but the volunteers foiled them. I understand that it is difficult to implement the legal guarantee of MSP, but that does not mean that we sit on our hands and do nothing about it.” The farmer leader said that seven lakh farmers of the country have died due to debt. Meanwhile, the doctors present there urged Dallewal not to speak much. He said that due to this the health of the farmer leader may deteriorate.
Dallewal also expressed grief over the accident that occurred with the buses of farmers coming for the ‘Kisan Mahapanchayat’, in which three farmer women lost their lives and around 41 were injured. He appealed that one trolley from each village of Punjab should be sent to the Khanuri protest site.
