Patiala, Punjab (August 24, 2023) – The Patiala Police on Thursday conducted raids at several locations in Patiala and arrested several drug dealers after a video of an old lady selling drugs went viral on social media.
The video, which was shot in one of the villages of Patiala, shows the old lady openly selling drugs to a group of people. The video sparked outrage among the public and the police were forced to take action.
In the raids, the police arrested 10 drug dealers and seized a large quantity of drugs. The arrested drug dealers have been booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS Act).
The police have also launched a manhunt to nab the old lady who was seen selling drugs in the video.
The police action has been welcomed by the people of Patiala. They have expressed hope that the police will continue to take strict action against drug dealers and make the city drug-free.
