Voting continues for HSGMC elections Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee

Voting for the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (HSGMC) in 39 wards of the state is going on peacefully. Around 28.41 percent voting has been recorded at 398 booths till 12 noon. Voting will continue till 5 PM and the results will be announced after the voting process. Many of the total 3.5 lakh registered voters are queuing up to vote at polling booths. Initially, a total of 165 candidates contested the election, however, Amanpreet Kaur was elected unopposed from Tohana (Ward-25), 164 candidates contested for the remaining seats.

Prominent Sikh organizations have fielded candidates for these elections, including Panthak Dal (Jhinda) led by former (ad-hoc) president of HSGMC Jagdish Singh Jhinda, Sikh Samaj Sanstha, Haryana, led by former senior vice president Didar Singh Nalvi. Sikh Panthak Dal and Gurdwara Sangharsh Committee Haryana are involved. Apart from this, 100 independent candidates are also contesting the election. In Karnal, Kaithal, there are seven booths. Karnal (Ward-19) recorded 39.1% voting, while Asandh (Ward-18) 25.95%, Nisingh (Ward-17) 21.54%, Nilokheri (Ward-16) 25.18%, Guhla (Ward-16) 20) 25.26 percent in Kangthali (Ward-21) 28.88 percent, in Kaithal (Ward-22) 24.36 percent voting. Kaithal Deputy Commissioner Preeti inspected the polling process at various booths. He also interacted with the voters.

Meanwhile, District Election Officer and DC Preeti in Guhla Chika visited various polling centers regarding Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee elections and reviewed the voting process. First, the DC Committee reached the booths set up at the Government Senior Secondary School at Chowk Patti Afghan, where they got information about the vote percentage and also interacted with the voters. He said that the committee has three wards in the district, including Ward No: 20 Guhla, Ward No: 21 Kagthali, Ward No: 22 Kaithal. A total of 12 candidates are in the fray in these three wards. First of all the process of mock poll was conducted in all 34 booths of this district. After which the voting process started at the scheduled time in the morning. Adequate police arrangements have been made in the district to conduct the polls peacefully.
