SSC CGL 2025 Vacancy: Staff Selection Commission has issued a major update for the youth preparing for government jobs. The commission has released the vacancy chart for Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGL) 2025. A total of 15,130 posts will be filled this year, which is considered to be a significant increase compared to previous years. Appointments will be made for these posts in various ministries, departments and organizations of the Central Government.
With this SSC Vacancy Chart, candidates will now get a chance to choose the posts of their choice. The commission has clarified that the ‘option-cum-preference’ window for various posts will open this month, i.e. in March. For the convenience of candidates, a sample SSC CGL Recruitment Form has also been uploaded on the official website, ssc.gov.in. This will help them to understand the entire process of SSC form filling and avoid mistakes.
According to the final chart released by the Staff Selection Commission, a total of 15,130 posts have been divided into various categories. Maximum 6,464 posts are reserved for non-reserved (general) category. There are 3,834 posts in Other Backward Classes (OBC), 2,223 posts in Scheduled Castes (SC) and 1,134 posts in Scheduled Tribes (ST). 1,475 seats are reserved for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates.
The most important information for the candidates is that they should use the ‘Option-cum-Preference’ window to select their preferred post and department. SSC has indicated that this window will become active in March 2026. The Commission advises the candidates to verify their educational qualification and physical criteria beforehand for the posts. The sample forms available on the website can help the candidates to understand how to fill the online form.
The Commission has strictly instructed that once the ‘Option-cum-Preference’ form is finally submitted, no changes shall be allowed. If a candidate is found ineligible for a post during document verification, his/her candidature will be canceled forthwith. Hence, candidates are advised to be very careful while filling their preferred sequence and follow the instructions of SSC.
Candidates selected through SSC CGL exam are given the opportunity to work in Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ posts in prestigious Ministries of Government of India (such as Ministry of External Affairs, Income Tax Department, Central Excise, and CBI).
