Mahindra College Patiala Organizes Voter Awareness Camp

Students pledge to vote in upcoming elections

Patiala: A voter awareness camp was organized at Government Mahindra College, Patiala on November 2, 2023. The chief guest of the event was the principal of the college, Prof. Amarjit Singh, who inspired the students to work hard for the strengthening of democracy and informed about the importance of voting.

The college principal, faculty and students took the voter oath and signed the pledge board. The camp was led by District Sweep Nodal Officer Dr. Savinder Singh Rekhi, and Assistant Nodal Officers Mr. Hardeep Singh and Mohit Kumar made special contributions to its successful organization.

College NCC Naval wing cadets and NSS volunteers participated in the camp under the leadership of Usha, Dr. Sunita Arora and Mr. Swaran Kaur. They also took the voter oath. Gurjot Singh, a student of the college’s music department, presented a folk song at the function.

Faculty members Prof. Rai Bahadur Singh, Prof. Ramneet Kaur, Mrs. Pavitra Puneet Kaur, Rev. Sandeep Singh and Mr. Sukhwinder Singh also participated in the function. Around 150 students of the college attended the event.

The camp was organized to raise awareness among students about the importance of voting and to encourage them to exercise their right to vote in the upcoming elections.
