A case of attempted rape has been registered against the ex-jailer of Baghpat district jail following a complaint lodged by a female officer posted in the district jail of Baghpat district of UP. This information has been given by the authorities.
He said that the police have started the investigation into the matter, but the accused Jitendra Kashyap has not been arrested yet. SHO of Khekra station police station Kailash Chandra said, “We have registered a case on Tuesday based on a written complaint filed by a female jail officer. However, the accused has not been taken into custody yet.”
He said that the medical examination of the complainant has been completed and his statement will be recorded in the court. He said that the CCTV footage from the district jail will also be reviewed and action will be taken if the allegations are found to be true.
According to the complainant’s letter, after the retirement of District Jail Superintendent Vishnu Kant Mishra, Jitendra Kashyap was given additional charge as Jail Superintendent. The complainant has alleged that on January 1, Jitendra Kashyap called her to the Superintendent’s office and tried to sexually assault her by performing indecent acts on her. -News-Patiala
