Jaipur, 17 December
Prime Minister Narendra Modi targeted the Congress today and said that they talk big in the name of farmers but they neither do anything themselves nor allow others to do it. He alleged that instead of ending water disputes in the states, the Congress encourages them. Modi said that the delay in the implementation of the East Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP) is a clear proof of the Congress’s ‘intentions’.
He said, ‘Congress has stopped the ERCP for so long and this is also a clear proof of the intentions of Congress. They talk big in the name of farmers but neither do anything for the farmers themselves nor do they allow others to do it.’ He was addressing a function organized on the occasion of completion of one year of Rajasthan government.
On various water disputes going on between the states, Modi said that the BJP’s policy is to resolve the issue through dialogue while the Congress is increasing the water dispute. He said, “BJP’s policy is to solve issues through dialogue, not confrontation.” During the event organized to mark the completion of one year of Rajasthan government, he announced 24 projects related to energy, road, railway and water worth more than Rs 46,300 crore. Inauguration or foundation stones of projects were also laid. -News-Patiala
