Rajasthan: Army jawan dies during training

An Indian Army jawan died during an exercise at the ‘Mahajan Field Firing Range’ in Rajasthan’s Bikaner district. A defense spokesperson said that the incident took place on December 15 when Gunner Chandra Prakash Patel (31), a resident of Uttar Pradesh’s Mirjapur, was on duty as a detachment commander in a gun battery during training. He said he was attaching the cannon to a towing vehicle. Meanwhile, the cannon slipped back and the jawan was injured. The defense spokesperson said, “The jawan was immediately brought to the field hospital by ambulance, where the doctors declared him brought dead.” Mahajan Police Station Officer Kashyap Singh said that after the post-mortem, the body has been handed over to the family members. –News-Patiala
