Rupinder Kaur Bhatti said that the arrested persons have been identified as Madhur Magu alias Nannu resident of Mohalla Beda Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Gurpreet Singh alias Gaurav resident of Alachour and Aftab alias Sourav Hall resident of Shamshanghat Road Phagwara.
They said that Harjit Kaur was sunbathing outside her neighbor Saroj Bangar’s house in Raja Garden Colony on December 22, when two motorcycle-riding boys snatched a gold chain from her house and ran away. had registered a case and started investigation. He said that the police have raided and arrested Madhup Magu and Gurpreet Singh in this connection and have also recovered the motorcycle, datar and khanda used in the incident. These three were taken into police remand and interrogated, during which a pistol of 32 bore, two jackets and a toy pistol were also recovered, which were recovered from a belt in the house of Aftab alias Sourav. He said that during interrogation, the accused admitted that cases were registered against them in Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur and Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar police stations. The police have recovered a chain, a motorcycle, a handgun, a 32 bore pistol, two fake pistols and a dagger from them. He said that many cases have been registered against these persons.
