Jagtar Singh Lamba
Amritsar, December 6
Tarsem Singh, the father of MP Amritpal Singh, imprisoned in Assam’s Dibrugarh Jail, has announced the formation of a new panthak party by holding a big conference in Muktsar on the occasion of Maghi. Tarsem Singh has disclosed this during a press conference here today. He alleged that obstacles are being raised by the government and the administration to prevent the conference from being held on the occasion of Maghi. He said that the proposed conference is under the ambit of law and there is nothing anti-government or anti-national in it. Stopping the discussions of Amritpal Singh joining the conference, he said that there is no such possibility. He appealed to the people of Punjab to join this sect gathering.
Tarsem Singh said that a new sectarian party would be announced at the conference. In response to a question, he refrained from disclosing the name of the party for now. He said that the name of the party is being discussed, which will be announced at the conference itself. He said that initially a five-member committee will be formed which will decide the outline and next strategy of this panthak party. Regarding the purpose of forming a new sectarian party, he said that the present leadership of the Shiromani Akali Dal has been rejected by the people. The nation is feeling the need for such a party, which will determine the state and direction of Sikh politics. He said that all parties interested in Punjab are invited to join this panthak party. Regarding the demand of Khalistan, he said that everything will be done under the law. He said that for the time being attention will be given to the important demands of Punjab because at present the rights of Punjab are being lost, which need to be protected. He said that youth and fresh faces will be given priority in the new panthak party, as people have rejected the blasphemers. All Punjabis will be able to join this party irrespective of their religion or caste.
