Punjab News: Recently, in the name of stopping drug trafficking, at Shaheed Baba Jeevan Singh Nagar of village Dan Singh Wala, miscreants set fire to 8 houses of laborers by throwing petrol bombs at night and people ran away with their lives and their children. had to save Dalit leader Kiranjit Singh Gehri Chairman National Dalit Mahapanchayat Punjab along with his team reached the village on Tuesday to investigate the matter and support the victimized Dalit families.

They were accompanied by Lachman Singh Sahota, Raja Singh Sivian, Davinder Singh Dikh, Jagmel Singh, Jasveer Singh Gobindpura, Amandeep Singh Sivian, Gurbachan Singh Sivian, who reached the village of Dan Singh Wala and saw the opportunity and 5 injured persons reached the hospital. The women victims of Gehri, Sarabjit Kaur, Angrez Kaur, Major Singh, Jaspreet Singh, Pargat Singh, Dev Singh, Jagdev Singh and other victims said that complaints were filed against the accused at Nahiyanwala police station for many days but the accused were arrested by the village sarpanch and Halka. The police did not take action due to the alleged involvement of the MLA. The people alleged that if their application had been acted upon, this unfortunate incident would not have happened.

He said that due to the fire, the children’s books, books, essential papers, clothes, dowry belongings of a girl child have been burnt to ashes. The families of the victims have sent their children to their relatives out of fear. Seeing the atmosphere of terror and the condition of the Dalit society, Gehri spoke to the DC Bathinda and the SSP and demanded to give ten lakhs each to these families for rehabilitation and demanded that the police be stationed here permanently.

He has demanded a judicial inquiry into this whole matter and also demanded to register a case against the conspirators and those who gave money to the accused. He said that Dalit society should unite and fight against drug traffickers and those who supply them.
