Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee elections will be held on Sunday, for which the State Election Commission has completed all preparations. The polling parties have left for their respective booths for the election to be held on 40 seats in 22 districts of Haryana. The fate of 164 candidates will be decided by the nearly 4 lakh voters of the state. The prestige of four prominent Sikh leaders Baljit Singh Daduwal, Jagdish Singh Jhinda, Baldev Singh Kiampuri and Didar Singh Nalvi is at stake in the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee elections. Baljit Singh Daduwal’s team is contesting under the banner of Shiromani Akali Dal (Haryana) Azad, while Jagdish Singh Jhinda is contesting under the banner of Panthak Dal (Jhinda), Baldev Singh Kiampuri’s team is contesting under the banner of Haryana Sikh Panthak Dal and Didar Singh The candidate of Nalvi is contesting as a candidate of the Sikh Samaj Organization. The President and General Secretary of Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee and other office bearers will be elected by the members elected in the HSGPC elections. Nine members will be nominated from the newly elected 40 members, which will include two BC, two SC, two women and three general members. The newly elected members of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee will look after the management of 51 gurdwaras and the functioning of social and medical institutions.
