In view of the Republic Day, Punjab Police and BSF along with other agencies conducted a search operation in the border areas. According to District Police Chief Daljinder Singh Dhillon, searches were conducted in Simbal School and Dhinda and many other adjacent villages of Bamial sector of Pathankot district. The objective of this operation is to deal with possible security threats on the occasion of January 26 and prevent any kind of illegal activities in the border areas. An alert was already given about this search operation. During this search operation, houses in the villages were thoroughly searched and suspicious vehicles were checked. Officials told the villagers that if any suspicious activity is seen or the sound of a drone is heard, they should immediately report it to the police.
District Police Chief Daljinder Singh Dhillon also said that the security agencies are fully prepared to deal with any kind of threat. He said that there will be no relaxation in security on the occasion of January 26 and all the security forces will follow their responsibilities day and night.
