The selection committee headed by Ajit Agarkar has announced the Indian squad for the Champions Trophy and three one-day home matches against England. Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been included in the squad, but his availability will depend on his fitness. The selectors have also given talented opener Yashasvi Jaiswal an opportunity to play one-day matches while Mohammad Shami has returned to the national team. During the recent Australia tour, Bumrah could not bowl on the last day of the Test match due to a cramp problem in the Sydney Test. The Champions Trophy will start from February 19. The tournament is to be hosted by Pakistan, but India will play all its matches in Dubai. Shubman Gill has been made the vice-captain of the Indian team while fast bowler Mohammad Siraj has not got a place in the team.
