The former chief minister said that he had been waiting to vote since morning, but surprisingly, his name was not found in the voter list of the polling station where he had voted in the recent Lok Sabha elections. “They are looking for it now… let’s see what happens,” alleged Rawat. The Election Commission officials have assured me of an investigation and asked me to wait.” He said, “I should have been more careful in this matter, because I knew that there were cases of wrongly adding and deleting names in the BJP voter list. included in.”

These elections are being held for 100 urban local bodies, including 11 municipal corporations, 43 municipal councils and 46 municipal panchayats. A total of 5,405 candidates are in the fray for these institutions. Among them, 72 candidates are contesting for the posts of 11 mayors, 445 for the posts of municipal council chairpersons and 4,888 candidates for the posts of municipal councilors.

Uttarakhand State Election Commissioner Sushil Kumar said that a total of 30,29,000 voters are likely to participate in the elections for 100 urban local bodies spread over 1282 wards of the state. He said that there are 1,515 polling centers and 3,394 polling booths in the state.
