The farmers blocked the way when the compensation for the acquired land was not received

In Manauli village of Surat, the farmers raised slogans against the Punjab government, revenue department and NHAI by blocking the temporary road built in the land as a protest against the farmers not getting compensation for the acquired land. The farmers demanded immediate release of compensation and warned of stopping the road work in case of failure.
Farmers Chetan Singh, Balbir Singh, Sukhjit Singh, Numdar Gurwinder Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Avtar Singh, Harminder Singh, Ramkaran and Gurpreet Singh said that the payment of their acquired land had started in January 2023 but despite the passage of two years Full compensation has not been issued to many farmers. He said that the lands of the farmers have been encroached upon. The farmers said that the payments for the sheds, tubewells and trees of many farmers were not released. They said that they are not being heard at any place. He said that the officials of the revenue department are harassing the farmers by imposing various types of deficiencies. There is no hearing from them even in the DR office. Chetan Singh, Chaman Lal, Gurpreet Singh said that their miss numbers are being shown, while a three-day notice of NHAI ownership has also been put up on their land. They did not even get a single piece of this acquired land.
Farmers today stopped the work of the road constructed on the acquired land without compensation. The farmers warned that if the money was not released, they would be forced to close the road on the other side with the support of farmers’ organizations under the leadership of the Road Struggle Committee. He demanded immediate release of due compensation.

Panchkula (PP Verma): Farmers of the district staged a demonstration in support of the ongoing Bharatiya Kisan Andolan on the Punjab-Haryana border at Shambhu and Khanuri border. In support of farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who is on fast to death for the demand of MSP guarantee law on Khanuri border of Ambala, farmers associated with Bharatiya Kisan Union (Charuni) organized a dharna in front of Sector-01 Mini Secretariat. The farmers went on hunger strike together for a day. Flower garlands were presented to 11 farmers on hunger strike. After this the farmers raised slogans against the government and in support of Dallewal. Farmers sent their demands to Panchkula CTM in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Bharati Kisan Union Singh said that it has been more than 10 months, the farmers are protesting at the Khanuri border of Ambala and the farmers of Haryana are also standing shoulder to shoulder with them. District president Narinder Singh along with others also gave a letter to the city magistrate in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that if their demands are not met, the farmers will be forced to protest in the entire country.
