Four members of the gang have been arrested in the case of kidnapping actor Mushtaq Mohammad Khan from Delhi airport, keeping him captive in UP’s Bijnor district and demanding ransom. According to the police, the gang members were also planning to kidnap Bollywood actor Shakti Kapoor. Kapoor was also to be invited on the pretext of a function. The arrested gang members have been identified as Sarthak Chaudhary, Sabiuddin, Azim and Shashank. The police have also recovered 1.04 lakh rupees from them. According to the police, this gang was involved in the business of kidnapping movie stars by sending advance payment and air tickets under the guise of invitation to an event. During the investigation, it was found that the gang had also offered actor Shakti Kapoor Rs 5 lakh for his participation in a similar event, but the deal could not be completed due to the demand for a higher amount in advance. The police are now investigating the case that this gang was not involved in the kidnapping of other film stars. Efforts are on to track down Lavi and other members of the gang.
Meanwhile, one of the abductors who kidnapped comedian Sunil Paul, Arjun, was injured today due to bullet injury during an encounter with the police in Meerut. Arjun was arrested on Saturday. Arjun was brought to Lalkurti police station for a medical check-up when he grabbed the sub-inspector’s pistol and tried to run away. Meerut SSP Vipin Tada said that the police have recovered an SUV (which was used for the kidnapping of Sunil Pal), cash worth Rs 2.25 lakh and a mobile phone used in the crime from Arjun. Arjun has been taken to the hospital in an injured condition. Police are looking for his other accomplices. -News-Patiala
