Punjab News: The interim committee of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has rejected its own resolution today urging the expulsion of Khalistani supporter Narayan Singh Chaudhary from the Panth. Narayan Singh Chauda was arrested by the police on the charge of fatal attack on Sukhbir Singh Badal.

The interim committee of the Shiromani Committee had appealed to the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht to expel Chauda from the panth by passing a resolution in this matter. This resolution has been rejected in the internal committee meeting held today. In the meeting, the time of investigation of the investigation committee formed regarding the investigation of the case against the Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib has also been extended.

Apart from this, the committee has strongly condemned the killing of three youths of Punjab in Pilibhit district of UP in the past ‘by making competition’, and has demanded a judicial inquiry into the whole matter. During this meeting held under the leadership of Shiromani Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, sharp questions have been raised on it while passing a resolution regarding police competition in UP.

It was said in the resolution that this is a very serious matter and it seems like an act of deliberately targeting the youth of Punjab at a very young age. It should be judicially investigated.

Along with this, by passing a resolution in the interim committee meeting on 19th December, the period of the investigation committee formed regarding Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh has been extended by one month in view of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee elections. Through this resolution, the commitment has also been expressed that the investigation of this matter will be absolutely fair.

Former Prime Minister of India Dr. A condolence resolution was also passed on Manmohan Singh’s challan and tributes were paid to him by chanting Mulmantar and Gurmantar.
