Canada’s Paul Airline plane crashed on landing at Canada’s Halifax airport. A portion of the plane caught fire, but no casualties were sustained. Halifax Airport was temporarily closed on Saturday night due to the accident. This accident happened about two hours after a similar accident at South Korea’s Muan International Airport, in which 179 people lost their lives.
According to information, Air Canada flight number 2259, which was being operated by Paul Airlines, had taken off from Newfoundland and arrived at Harifax Airport with passengers. Meanwhile, the flight could not touch the ground due to a technical fault in the landing gear of the aircraft during landing. The plane skidded off the runway and got stuck in the dirt and a part of it caught fire. Firefighters and rescue teams, alerted by the pilot, brought the fire under control and got all the passengers and crew members out safely.
According to a passenger of the Air Canada flight, as soon as the plane landed on the runway, its rudder turned to the left and its left wing along with the engine started sliding on the ground and caught fire. The rescue team immediately reached the spot and brought the fire under control and the passengers were quickly pulled out safely from the right side.
A Halifax airport official told X that the pilot’s attempt to open the landing gear caused the left wheel to come out of the way, leading to the crash. It is learned that the oil in the plane was so low that the pilot did not consider it reasonable to take the risk of flying again from a height of 100 feet and the plane fell to the ground while trying to open the wheel. An investigation into the cause of the accident has been started.
