Regarding the matter of laying the Lelewala gas pipeline, where there was tension between the farmers and the police all day today, the farmers’ union came to give compensation checks to the company officials at night in whose fields the pipe is to be laid. He was captured and taken prisoner.
Farmer leaders of the village Chatin Singh, Jasvir Singh, Jaswinder Singh and Bahadur Singh said that four officials of the Gas Pipeline Company reached the place of the pipeline in the fields at night in a vehicle and called some farmers there to give compensation checks but when When the leaders of the farmers’ organization of the village came to know, they surrounded the officials. After this, the officials were brought to the house of farmer leader Chatin Singh, whose sons were also tried to give the cheque. District farmer leaders Jagdev Singh Jogewala, Harjinder Singh Baggi and Jasveer Singh Burj Sema also reached the spot. A large gathering of the farmers of the village also took place on this occasion. Kisan Union seized 25 checks from the company officials bearing the names of different farmers. As soon as it was known, DSP Talwandi Sabo Rajes Snehi and the police chief also rushed to the spot with the police force who released the company officials after talking to the leaders. The union handed over the checks seized from the officials to the police officials. Farmer leaders said that the company is trying to divide the farmers among themselves by doing this, but their plans will not be allowed to be fulfilled and the farmers will continue their struggle.
