News Patiala:- The Punjab Vigilance Bureau has registered a case against Bharat Inder Singh Chahal, who holds cabinet rank as an advisor in the Captain Amarinder Singh government, in the case of assets exceeding income.
According to sources, a case has been registered against Chahal under Section 13 (1B) and 13 (2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act as he is not authorized to speak to the media.
During the vigilance investigation, it has been found that Chahal has accumulated 300 percent more assets than his known sources of income. This is just the beginning of the probe as the vigilance has to check many other properties bought under different names, including those of family members and relatives.
The case has been registered following a complaint by a whistle-blower who alleged that Chahal had amassed wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The vigilance bureau is now probing the matter and will be looking into all aspects of Chahal’s assets and financial transactions.
