Punjab Floods: 26,250 People Evacuated to Safe Places

  • 168 Relief Camps Active in Flood-Affected Areas

 

Chandigarh, July 18, 2023: The Punjab government has evacuated 26,250 people to safe places in the wake of the recent floods. The floods have affected 1422 villages in 18 districts of the state.

 

A spokesperson for the government said that 168 relief camps have been set up in the affected areas. These camps are providing food, shelter, and medical care to the displaced people.

 

The spokesperson said that the government is working to restore normalcy in the affected areas. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) have been deployed to help with the relief and rescue operations.

 

The spokesperson appealed to the people to stay safe and follow the instructions of the authorities.
