Patiala, India – The risk of dengue has increased in Patiala after two new cases were reported on Thursday. The total number of dengue cases in the district is now 7.
The two new cases were reported from Anand Nagar A and Adarsh Nagar, both located on Bhadson Road. Dengue larvae have also been found in the houses near the cases’ houses in these colonies.
District epidemiologist Dr. Sumit Singh said that the standing rainwater is a major factor in the increase of dengue larvae. He urged people to ensure that there is no standing water in their homes or surroundings.
Dr. Singh also advised people to seek medical attention immediately. if they experience any symptoms of dengue, such as fever, headache, and muscle pain.
Here are some tips to prevent dengue:
- Keep your surroundings clean and free of standing water.
- Drain any water that collects in containers, such as flower pots, buckets, and tires.
- Cover water tanks and drums.
- Use mosquito nets when sleeping.
- Apply insect repellent.
If you experience any symptoms of dengue, seek medical attention immediately.
