Mining Minister Harjot Bains said that there are continuous complaints of illegal mining in Punit Sharma’s area. Despite the ban, mining complaints are being received in Khera Kalmot and other areas of Ropar. Apart from this, the notice regarding small size scales during the duty was also not sent on time. Furthermore, XEN did not take any action to meet the legitimate mining target. Due to this, the government has suffered a financial loss.

Mining Minister Harjot Bains said that 306 FIRs have been filed since March 19 after the formation of the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab. Bank guarantees of several contractors have been forfeited. Legal mining has increased two and a half times.
