Punjab Vigilance Bureau Arrests Constable for Accepting Bribe

News Patiala:- 30th July- The Punjab Vigilance Bureau arrested a constable on Saturday for accepting a bribe of Rs. 10,000. The constable, Karambir Singh, was posted at the Cyber Cell in Patiala.

The case was registered on the complaint of Pardeep Singh, a resident of Patiala. Singh had alleged that he was asked to pay a bribe of Rs. 20,000 by SI Pritpal Singh and journalist S.S. Malhotra in exchange for a favorable report in a marital dispute.

After preliminary investigation, the Vigilance Bureau team laid a trap and caught Constable Karambir Singh red-handed while accepting the first installment of Rs. 10,000 as bribe from the complainant.

An FIR has been lodged against SI Pritpal Singh, constable Karambir Singh, and journalist Malhotra at Police Station Vigilance Bureau, Patiala. The case is being investigated.
