| RC of the new vehicle will be with the dealer in Punjab |

Vehicle registration will be done from the dealership from which you will buy the car in Punjab. This will be followed by home delivery of the Smart Registration Certificate (RC). The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has launched this facility. This will ensure that people do not have to face the pressure of the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) to get an RC.

According to the government, all dealers have been given the right to register new vehicles. After buying a car, people can choose its number on the spot.
The vehicle registration certificate will be approved at the dealer level only. Also, a high-security number plate (HSRP) will be approved by the dealer. People can then download and use the ERC.
The application for registration is made at the dealer level, but then for RC, sometimes one has to go to the RTA office and sometimes to the dealer.
Now people can download and use RC. After that, you do not have to go to the dealer or RTA office for RC. This will be home delivery. The Department of Transport will also check the process to ensure it’s smooth running.
