Akasa Air started its first commercial flight from Chennai


News Patiala: Akasa Air, the country’s newest airline, has started flights from Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu. The city is number five in the company’s network. Akasa Air will have its first commercial flight from Chennai to Bengaluru and will operate two daily flights in each direction between the two cities.

The airline will launch an more airline on the Mumbai-Chennai route from 15 September 2022, expanding its operations to Chennai. Also, the airline has decided to start an more flight on 26 September 2022 on Chennai-Bangalore route and Chennai-Kochi route.

Akasa Air is expanding its network

Akasa  Air Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer said, “We have achieved a new milestone today with the launch of commercial flights from Chennai, the fifth city in our network. From today we will provide two daily flights in each direction on this new route.

He added that after the next 5 days we will strengthen our network by starting flights between India’s financial capital Mumbai and Chennai from September 15. With the launch of the Chennai-Kochi route on September 26, our network will be further strengthened. Also, he said that with the expansion, the entire focus of the company is to provide airlines at affordable rates to its customers.

The first flight was filled in August

Akasa Air started its commercial operations last month in August with two plane. At present the company has a total of 4 ships. The company’s effort is to take its airline to the entire country in the next few years. Akasa Air plans to expand to 18 plane by March 2023 and 72 plane in the next four years.
