News Patiala: The radiologist in the hostel has committed suicide by hanging himself with a pick. The deceased has been identified as Aarti, resident of Gurdaspur. Police have kept the body in the mortuary of the hospital for postmortem and informed the family.
She had returned to the hostel from her home last night. She did not come out of the room long enough this morning when fellow nurses knocked on the door.
Sometimes when the door was knocked, neither the sound of Aarti from inside nor the door opened. The door was broken by other staff members of the hospital while body was hanging inside with a fan.
After which the people present informed the police. The police placed her body in the mortuary of the hospital.
Police Station Civil Lines Chief Vijay Pal said that a divorce case was pending against Aarti who was working as a radiographer in the hospital. She had reached Patiala hostel at noon yesterday.
When Aarti did not arrive on duty on Friday morning, the staff members went to see her in the room but Aarti did not open the door and had to break it.
He said that the family of the deceased has been informed and further action would be taken on the statement of the family members.
