                    Eight samples taken by the health department last month failed to meet the quality standards. According to the report, six food samples were declared ‘substandard’, one unsafe, and one food sample was declared ‘incorrect’.

The other day it was going viral on social media. It belongs to Nik Bakers, located in front of the city’s main post office. In which plastic is to be extracted from the Swiss roll taken from Nik Bakers. A written complaint was also lodged against him. While receiving the complaint, the District Health Officer checked the shop and filled 04 samples.

District Health Officer Dr. Shelley Jaitley was accompanied by Food Safety Officer Puneet Sharma, Gagandeep Kaur, and Kanwardeep Singh. Who checked into Nick Baker’s shop. From there, a total of four samples of cakes, creamy butter cookies, puddings, and Swiss rolls were filled.

Fill samples from different places

  1. District Health Officer (DHO) Dr. Shelley Jaitley said that Shyam Sweets’ cream lab in Samana was found to be ‘unsafe’.
  2. In Devigarh, samples of yogurt and cheese from Khalsa Dairy were declared substandard.
  3. One sample of Punjab Dairy milk and milk cake was also found substandard in Samana.
  4. The milk cake of Sukhi Sweets was found substandard in the Dulhan Sadhan block.
  5. Nitin Confectionery’s special ‘salty fenugreek’ brand was found to be wrong.

These samples will be sent to the laboratory for testing. In case of failure of samples after laboratory tests, appropriate action would be taken against the owners concerned under the Food Safety Act.
