District Magistrate issued restraining orders in view of Covid-19

The curfew will be in force from 10 pm to 5 am

District Magistrate Sandeep Hans has issued restraining orders in the district till January 15, 2022, in view of the growing threat of Covid-19. As per the orders issued, it has been made mandatory to wear masks in public places and workplaces. Similarly, it has been ordered to wear masks in public places and to keep a social distance and distance of 6 feet.

The following are the orders issued by the District Magistrate, Patiala

  1. Under section 144, non-essential traffic will be stopped within the municipal limits from 10 pm to 5 am. While essential activities, transportation of goods, government work, employees working in shifts in the industry, private and government offices, etc. will be allowed. 
  2. Buses, trains, and planes will also be allowed to go home during this time but must be fully vaccinated and if he has recovered from Covid or those coming from outside Punjab, a report of negative RTPCR must be made 72 hours in advance.
  3. Close all the educational institutions in the district like schools, colleges, universities, coaching institutes, etc. while online education will continue.
  4. Medical and nursing colleges would function as usual. In addition, teaching and non-teaching staff will go to work in their respective organizations, but they have been instructed to get vaccinated. Will be allowed to open with if all staff has been fully vaccinated.
  5. Sports complexes, stadiums, swimming pools, gyms will also be closed to spectators, except for players preparing for national and international sports competitions.
  6. A.C. Buses will be able to run at 50 percent capacity.
  7. Fully vaccinated staff will be allowed in public-private offices, industries, workplaces. 
  8. The staff of government offices should conduct the necessary vaccinations within the next 15 days, otherwise departmental action would be taken. 
  9. No masks or no service would be applicable in government and private offices. 
  10. Health care staff will not be absent.
  11. Any service in government or private institutions would be given to a person who is wearing a mask.
  12. All other departments will also ensure strict adherence to the Covid Protocol.
  13. Health guidelines issued by the Center and the state government regarding Covid-19 such as social distance of two yards, wearing of masks would be ensured and strict action would be taken against those who spit in public places. 

District Magistrate Sandeep Hans said that action would be taken against the violators under sections 51 to 60 of section 188 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005. He directed all SDMs and DSPs to strictly follow the instructions issued.
