                        Patiala’s Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) -cum-Additional District Election Officer Gurpreet Singh Thind said that as per the directions of the Election Commission, strict arrangements are being made for the voting of every eligible voter. He said that postal ballot papers would be issued from February 13 to 17 to the voters over 80 years of age, including Covid-positive voters, hospitalized corona patients, and Diwans who could not go to the polls themselves.

A.D.C. Thind clarified that this would not be the case for the covid patients who tested positive on February 18, 19, and 20 and those who would like to go to the booth to cast their vote on their own. They will be able to cast their vote by going to the polling booth with utmost caution.

Praising the representatives of social service organizations present in the meeting, ADC Thind said that there are 34 thousand senior citizen voters and 12061 Diwang Jan voters in the district. Will be taken.

He said that sign language flakes would be installed for the deaf and hard of hearing voters while assistance has also been provided for the deaf and hard of hearing citizens.
