Punjabi star singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh has shared some pictures from his much awaited film ‘Punjab 95’ on social media. The film is based on the life of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra. After Diljit released the pictures of the film, there are speculations that the film may hit the theaters next month. ‘Punjab 95’ is directed by Honey Trehan while produced by Ronnie Screwvala under the banner of RSVP Movies. According to reports, the release of the film had to be postponed due to cuts imposed by the Censor Board. Apart from Arjun Rampal, the film also features ‘Kohra’ fame Suvinder Vicky.
Dosanjh, who recently wrapped up his concert ‘Dil-Luminati India Tour’, shared some pictures of himself from the film on his Instagram page on Saturday. In the year 2023, ‘Punjab 95’ was to have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, but later the organizers removed the film from there without any official statement. Remember that Jaswant Singh Khalra had researched the cremation of thousands of unidentified bodies in Punjab during the ten-year period from 1984 to 1994. In 1995, Khalra disappeared somewhere and in 2005, four police officers were arrested for Khalra’s alleged abduction and murder. In 2007, the Punjab and Haryana High Court commuted the seven-year sentence given to these four policemen to life imprisonment. -News-Patiala
