Thousands of devotees paid obeisance to Harminder Sahib on the occasion of New Year

On the first day of the new year, a large number of devotees reached the Harmandir Sahib in Amritsar today to pay obeisance. Devotees stood in queues for hours and bowed down and prayed for the prosperity of their families in the new year.

From Sydney to Mumbai and Nairobi, communities all over the world welcomed the New Year with fireworks and great enthusiasm. People in Shimla, Dharamshala and Manali also celebrated the New Year festival with pomp.

Meanwhile, President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have congratulated the countrymen on the New Year.

President Murmu wished the people a happy New Year and asked them to renew their commitment to work together to build a brighter, more inclusive and sustainable future for India and the world.

On the other hand, Mr. Modi said in a message on X, “Happy 2025! May this new year bring new opportunities, success and abundant happiness for everyone. May everyone be blessed with good health and prosperity.” -News-Patiala
