Madhuri Dixit was living in ‘dream world’ in US, why did she leave ‘Sukoon’ and return to India? These were the 2 special reasons

New Delhi. Bollywood’s Dhak-Dhak girl Madhuri Dixit achieved those heights of success in the 90s, reaching which is a dream for any actress. But at the peak of her career, she suddenly decided to settle in America by marrying Dr. Shriram Madhav Nene in 1999. When both of them returned to India after living in the US for almost a decade, the question in the minds of the fans was why did they decide to return to India after so many years? Now Madhuri herself has explained the reason for this in a podcast.

He made the revelation on Ranveer Allahabadia’s YouTube podcast ‘The Ranveer Show’. He admitted that life in the US was ‘wonderful and peaceful’. But he had to come back. He had some compulsions behind this. Dhak Dhak Girl has also revealed what she was.

This was the first reason

Madhuri said in this conversation, ‘My life in America was like a dream. The children were with me, I spent every moment with them. Taking to the park, playing, everything… but many things happened. My parents lived with me, my brothers and sisters are also in the US. Ram’s family also lived there, but as his parents were growing older, they wanted to return to India. He was with me my entire life and career, how could I leave him alone?

This also became the reason for returning to India

He further added, ‘The second reason was my work. I would come to India, shoot and go back. The distance was becoming very difficult. Ram also felt that the patients coming to him were in very bad condition. They wanted to catch the problem at an early stage. So he decided to develop a healthcare system to keep people healthy. We both felt that this was a calling, everything was fitting together. Madhuri admitted that she missed India a lot while living abroad. Therefore returning to India seemed the best decision for the family.

Madhuri and Dr. Nene were married on 17 October 1999 at her brother’s house in South California. Both of them were introduced by Madhuri’s brother. After dating for six months they decided to get married. The couple has two sons, Arin and Ryan. Madhuri Dixit returned to Mumbai in 2011 after living in America for almost ten years. Today he is active in films, TV and digital platforms, while Dr. Nene is working on many health-tech related projects in India.
