This time the rules are strict because your name will be included in the new voter list only if your name or the name of one of your parents is registered in the voter list of 2003. This is the reason why people are searching for the old voter list and many people are not finding it available anywhere. The good thing is that this list of 2003 can now be easily downloaded online.
To download the old voter list of 2003, you just have to go to the website of the Election Commission. After opening the site, go to the Services section and click on Search your name in Last SIR. After this you can either search from your state or by directly entering the name. On choosing the state option, after selecting the district and assembly constituency, after clicking on Final Roll, a captcha has to be filled and the PDF file gets downloaded immediately.
When the file is opened, you can find your or your family member’s name on the second page. When searching by name, you have to select your state, district and assembly constituency and then enter the full name used in 2002-2003, name of parents or spouse, your relationship with them and age during the same period. As soon as the captcha is completed, related information starts appearing on the screen.
If you want to see the voter list of the current year i.e. 2025, then you have to go to the website of the Election Commission and select the E-Roll PDF section. After selecting the state, district and assembly constituency, the final roll PDF gets downloaded in which you can check your name.
SIR is actually an annual campaign of the Election Commission under which the voter list across the country is updated. In this, the names of the youth who have completed 18 years are added, while the names of those who have died or have shifted to another place are removed. Apart from this, mistakes like name, address and age are also corrected.
If your name is wrong or completely missing in the draft voter list, it can be corrected by filling the SIR form. After verification the correct details are added to the new version. Those who are currently covered under the SIR process in 12 states are advised to check the 2003 list as soon as possible.
If the information is not available online, then contact the booth level officer of your area, who is going door-to-door and getting the forms filled. If you do not fill the form on time, your name may be removed from the voter list of 2025, so do not delay and definitely inform your family about this.
