Robin Smith played 62 Test matches for England

Talking about Robin Smith’s career, he played 62 Test matches for England. During this period, he scored 4,236 runs at an average of 43.67, including nine centuries. Three of these hundreds came against the West Indies. His highest Test score was 175, made against the West Indies in 1994. Smith also played county cricket, representing Hampshire. Smith retired from all formats of cricket in 2004, and since then, his mental health has been deteriorating.

Robin Smith played a historic innings in the ODI format

Smith played a historic innings against Australia in 1993. He played an unbeaten innings of 167 runs, the highest individual score by an England batsman in ODIs. Smith’s record stood for 23 years. In 2016, Alex Hales broke this record with his 171 runs against Pakistan. In ODIs, he scored 2419 runs in 71 matches in 70 innings at an average of 39.01.
