Airstrikes by Pakistan, ceasefire violations and targeting of Afghan players and innocent civilians have further escalated the tension. Now, pre-scheduled peace talks between the two sides are scheduled to take place in Doha, the capital of Qatar. A high-level Pakistani delegation has arrived in Doha to discuss how to resolve the issue with Taliban leaders.
The Pakistani delegation includes Defense Minister Khawaja Asif and ISI chief Asim Malik. On the Afghan side, a delegation led by Defense Minister Mullah Muhammad Yakub Mujahid and Intelligence Chief Abdul Haq Wasik will meet him. According to Afghanistan’s Tolo News, the 48-hour ceasefire between the two countries was extended at Pakistan’s request until the conclusion of the Doha talks. It was hoped that after this peace would be restored between the two sides, but Pakistan has taken a cowardly action by breaking the ceasefire before this.
Let us tell you that the representatives of Pakistan and Afghanistan have reached Doha, the capital of Qatar. Both sides will discuss a ceasefire. Pakistan’s foreign ministry said the talks are aimed at establishing stability and peace along the Durand Line. Meanwhile, Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister Amir Khan Mutki called Iran’s Foreign Minister before the talks and briefed him on the situation.
It is worth mentioning that the Taliban has not taken any action after Pakistan’s cowardly attack on Afghanistan. They have said that they will hold back their forces until the peace talks in Doha. Currently, the Taliban government’s defense minister and intelligence chief have arrived in Doha, the capital of Qatar. Now, talks are underway between the two sides to de-escalate tensions and a ceasefire. At the same time, the former president of Afghanistan, Hamid Karzai, has strongly condemned the air strikes on Pakistan’s Paktika province. Many Afghan citizens including young cricketers were killed and injured in these attacks. Karzai expressed his deepest condolences and sympathies to the families of those killed in these attacks and said that such attacks on innocent Afghans are inhumane and reprehensible.
