‘Nothing objectionable …’, Jolly LLB 3 rejected Allahabad HC big relief, demand for release

New Delhi. The upcoming film ‘Jolly LLB 3’ by Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi has got a big relief from the Allahabad High Court. The court on Wednesday dismissed a petition filed about the film’s song ‘Bhai Khiladi Hai’. The petition claimed that the song insults the judiciary and the legal profession and demanded a ban on the release of the film.

A division bench of Justice Sangeeta Chandra and Justice Brij Raj Singh said that they did not find ‘anything objectionable’ in the teaser and trailer of the song. The court said, ‘We did not find anything that warns the intervention of this court. We also saw the lyrics of the song and we did not find anything that intervenes in the real profession of the lawyers. Therefore, the court dismissed the petition without paying any cost.

However, this is not the first legal problem for the film. On August 20, a Pune court issued notices to Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi. Wazid Khan Bidkar, a lawyer, had complained that the film makes fun of the legal system and the court proceedings. He also opposed a scene in the film where judges are called ‘Mamu’. Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi have been asked to appear in the court on 28 September.

Complaint was held in Ajmer in 2024

Earlier in May 2024, Chandrabhan, president of Ajmer District Bar Association, also filed a complaint against the filmmakers. He claimed that this franchise disrespects the Indian judiciary system and introduces lawyers and judges in a ‘unfair’ manner.
