Review of security arrangements by ADGP in view of Republic Day

In view of the Republic Day ADGP Law and Order SPS. Parmar reviewed the security arrangements at police stations, hi-tech checkpoints and important places under Amritsar rural police. Mr. Parmar said during the press conference that the DGP has assigned the duty of senior officials to review the security arrangements in view of January 26 in the entire Punjab. During the visit, he interacted with the SHOs posted in the police stations along with the senior officials and took stock of the security arrangements being made in their area. He stressed that there should be no laxity in the security arrangements. In response to a question, the ADGP said that the Punjab Police is working diligently to stop drones, weapons and drugs coming from across the border. He said that the Punjab Police is vigilant about incidents of attacks on police stations. Denying the possibility of any kind of terrorist attack on the occasion of the Republic Day, he said that the police presence has been increased in crowded areas. Strict instructions have been given to the police personnel to keep a close eye on every suspect. The police have been put on alert mode. Apart from routine checking, special checking campaigns are also being conducted at markets, shopping malls, bus stands, railway stations etc.

Jalandhar Commissionerate Police took an oath to maintain law and order

Jalandhar: Special DGP, Law and Order Arpit Shukla has issued directives to increase police presence in public places and intensify surveillance and patrolling in critical areas of Jalandhar Commissionerate through a special tour. A series of comprehensive security operations have been launched with a special focus on increasing surveillance in those crowded market areas, malls and public places. Special DGP Arpit Shukla along with senior police officials have conducted repeated, well-planned and strategic raids at key locations across the city. As part of the review process, Special DGP Arpit Shukla along with senior police officials made a special visit to police station Rama Mandi. Meanwhile, Special DGP Arpit Shukla visited Gur Mandi, a local market area near Basti Adda Chowk, interacted with vendors selling kites and encouraged them to refrain from selling Chinese plastic kite strings and follow safety rules. He said that these stringent measures reflect the commitment of Commissionerate Police Jalandhar to safeguard public safety and ensure a peaceful Republic Day celebration in 2025. – letter persuasive
