Rail Accident: Maharashtra: 12 killed due to being hit by a train

In Jalgaon district here, 12 passengers were killed and many were seriously injured due to the collision of the passengers of the Pushpak Express by the Karnataka Express train. On this occasion, railway police officers reached the spot. It is learned that a rumor of a fire started in the Pushpak Express train and a passenger pulled its chain. Meanwhile, the passengers of this train got down and were hit by the Karnataka Express train coming from the other direction, due to which 12 people are reported to have died.

Inspector General of Police Dattatreya Karale told News-Patiala that 12 bodies have been shifted to the nearby civil hospital while six to seven people have been injured in the accident. The accident took place between Maheji and Pardhade railway stations near Pachora, 400 km from Mumbai, where the 12533 ​​Lucknow-Mumbai Pushpak Express stopped at around 5 pm after someone pulled the chain.

Central Railway Chief Spokesperson Swapnil Neela said that some passengers of the Pushpak Express then jumped out of the train and got caught in the Bengaluru-Delhi Karnataka Express. Police officials said that both the trains have reached their respective next stations and the accident site has been cleared. A railway official said that the Pushpak Express left the spot in just 15 minutes, while the Karnataka Express was removed in 20 minutes after the accident.

Maharashtra Minister Girish Mahajan also reached the spot. He said that the injured are undergoing treatment at a hospital in Pachora and most of them are out of danger. When this accident happened, people screamed.
