Amritsar Commissionerate Police has busted the cross border drug smuggling by arresting 4 accused. They were in touch with smugglers based in Pakistan to order drugs across the border using Taskerdrones. In this regard, DGP Punjab shared the information on ‘X’ and said that the Punjab Police has recovered 5 kg of heroin while taking action. In this regard, a case has been registered under the NDPS Act at Cheharta Amritsar police station. The official said that an investigation is being carried out to find out about other relations of the arrested persons.

Meanwhile, in another case, the Tarn Taran police arrested two criminals during the firing. Sharing information in this regard, DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav, while sharing information about ‘X’ post, said that the criminals attacked the police team at the time of arrest and tried to run away from the spot. Meanwhile, the police retaliated and opened fire, in which both the criminals sustained serious injuries and they were admitted to the Civil Hospital where their condition is stable.
The police have recovered a 32 bore pistol, live cartridges and an Activa from both.
